Memberships require your customers to pay a recurring fee that entitles them to specific benefits. For each membership, you can indicate the benefits that you want to offer. For example, a membership can give a 10% discount on the original cost of a specific service such as haircutting.
The following table lists the actions that each predefined role can perform:
Role | Owner | Admin | Location Manager | Staff |
---|---|---|---|---|
Create | X | X | ||
Update | X | |||
Enable or disable | X | X | X | |
Remove | X | X | ||
A membership is defined by the following attributes:
- Locations: Specify the locations where your new membership is enabled and can be purchased.
- Name: Enter a descriptive name. The system displays this name on the Memberships page of the staff application and on the Buy a Membership page of the booking application.
- (Optional) Description: Enter a brief description. The system displays this description on the Buy a Membership page of the booking application.
- Onetime Setup Fee: Enter the initial fee. The system will charge the customer before the subscription begins.
- Membership Fee: Specify the membership fee.
- Billing Period: Choose a billing period. The following options are available:
- Annually: If you choose this billing period, then you must specify a month and a day of the month when Timewise will charge your customers.
- Monthly: if you choose this billing period, then you must specify the day of the month when Timewise will charge your customers.
- Weekly: if you choose this billing period, then you must specify the day of the week when Timewise will charge your customers.
- Default Payment Method: Specify if Timewise should use either the credit card or the bank account on file.
- Initial Payment: Specify if you want to prorate the first membership fee when customers join during the membership period. Instead of charging members the full membership fee for a shorter period, you can charge a smaller fee. For example, if the weekly membership fee is $70 and your memberships renew on Monday, and someone joins on Wednesday, Timewise can automatically adjust their membership fee to $50.
- Failed Payment: When a recurring payment fails, specify whether Timewise should automatically suspend a membership, or it should retry up to three times.
- Benefits: Specify the benefits you want to include in your membership.
- Suspension: Use the toggle to specify if your staff members are allowed to suspend this membership. When staff members can suspend a membership, you must enter a suspension fee and indicate whether customers will redeem their benefits while this membership is suspended.
- Sell Online: Turn on this toggle to allow your customers to buy this membership plan from the booking website. Then, you can further configure this feature by specifying if customers are allowed to suspend or cancel this membership, or if customers should earn reward points for every purchase made with this membership.
- Earn Reward Points: Specify whether customers will earn reward points for purchases made with this membership.
- Benefits: Your customers can use the benefits included in a membership as a form of payment for any services, classes, packages, and products you select. To create a benefit set, under Benefits, select the Add More button and then populate the following fields:
- (Optional) Redeems: specify how many times your customers can redeem this discount.
- Discount: enter a discount as a percentage.
- Frequency: specify how often your customers can redeem the benefits included in this membership.
Note that you can create multiple benefit sets.
