How to Set Up Commission
Commissions allow you to pay your staff a percentage or dollar amount of the revenue generated each time they:
Perform a Service
Perform a Service Add On
Sell a Product
Sell a Membership or Credit Package
Sell a Gift Card
Teach a Class
Things to know:
1. Staff Members are not paid until the Appointment or Class has been paid, and performed.
For example, if a Customer pays for an Appointment online, but that Appointment is set in the future, that commission will not show on Commission Reports until the day of the Service.
2. You can choose to pay your staff members a percentage, or a flat amount for the actions listed above.
3. You do not need to select the types of commissions on the payroll page to ensure commissions are calculated.
To begin setting up your staff commission, navigate to Settings>Commission. Select the type of commission you will be working with (services, add ons, products, etc.).
Timewise offers many different ways to pay your staff for the actions they perform:
General - Regardless of the staff member, or the service performed, staff receives a percentage or flat dollar amount for performing the service.
Services - Regardless of the staff member, if a specific service is performed, the staff member receives a percentage or flat dollar amount for performing the service.
Staff - Regardless of the services performed, the staff member receives a percentage or flat dollar amount for performing a service.
Staff Overrides - Allows you to utilize the options above, but adjust accordingly for a specific service.
Ex. staff member receives 35% commission on all services except for one specific service in which they receive 40%.
Businesses can also pay out commission tiering by revenue. If a staff member makes x% on revenue collected between $0.00 - $99.99, y% on revenue collected between $100.00 and $199.99, and z% on revenue collected on revenue from $200.00 +, this can be set by changing the Commission Type (along with the Commission Cycle) under the General section.
