In Timewise, you can define user roles to provide your staff members access to various functionalities. Usually, a role corresponds to an employee's responsibilities. For example, if you are a yoga instructor, you are allowed to modify your own schedule but not the schedules of other users, whereas a manager can modify the schedules of all users.
Timewise comes with two types of roles:
- Predefined roles
- Custom roles
Predefined roles have a fixed set of permissions, and you cannot modify them:
- Owner: The user who creates the Timewise account is automatically assigned the super administrator role. There can be only one super administrator for each account. A super administrator has full access to Timewise and can create administrators, location managers, and staff members.
- Administrator: This role can manage all your locations. There can be multiple administrators for each account. An administrator has full access to Timewise and can create administrators, location managers, and staff members.
- Location manager: This role can manage the locations to which they are assigned. On some pages, locations managers have access to a limited set of functionalities.
- Staff member: This role has read-only access to the Settings section.
If the predefined roles don't meet your requirements, Timewise supports custom roles. A custom role is a collection of permissions that you can add from a preset list. To grant permissions using custom roles, you must follow a two-step process:
- Create a new role
- Assign your new custom role to a user. See the Manage Your Staff Members page for details.
The following table lists the actions that each predefined role can perform:
Owner | Admin | Location Manager | Staff | |
---|---|---|---|---|
View | X | X | X | X |
Create | X | X | ||
Update | X | X | ||
Remove | X | X |
A role is specified by the permissions that the role grants to each section. Permissions can be one of the following:
- Full Access
- Read Only
- Custom Access which can be set to view, create, edit, or delete
- No Acces
For details about how to perform some of the operations that are common to most sections, see the How to Use the Settings Section page.
